Walk, run, ride, MTB, ski & more

Know your trails by heart.

Cardio Trails records every outing, colors each path by how steep it is, and weaves everything you do into your own trail network — with your efforts, energy and heart rate on every segment. All of it private by default.

Explore

A map of everywhere you’ve been.

Not a trail database. Not someone else’s routes. Every line on this map was drawn by your own feet, wheels or skis — and it gets richer every time you head out.

  • Every path, colored by grade

Teal on the flat, purple at 20% and beyond, with arrows pointing uphill.

  • Your own trail network

Stretches you repeat merge into one segment, with junctions where paths meet.

    Rated for today’s ground

Your ratings depend on the activity, the direction and the ground: badges show the one for today, normal, wet or very dry.

Slope colors

See every climb at a glance.

Each stretch is colored by its grade: teal on the flat, yellow from 5%, orange from 10%, purple past 20%. Small arrows point uphill, so one look tells you which way it hurts.

  • 5%You feel it
  • 10%Steep
  • 20%+Very steep
  • Smoothed over 60 metersA robust fit over a centered window keeps colors honest, so a hill reads the same whether you walked it or ran it, up or down.
  • Colored as you goThe route takes its colors live while you record; only the newest few meters wait in gray until there is enough ahead to judge.
  • Gray rather than wrongWhere GPS elevation can’t be trusted, the path stays gray instead of guessing.

Trail network

Your paths, woven into one network.

Everything you record or import is merged on your iPhone into a single network. Stretches you repeat become one segment, junctions appear where paths meet, and every segment remembers what happened on it — separately uphill and downhill.

Twenty wobbly GPS tracks. One clean trail.

Recordings that follow the same path within a corridor you choose are traced onto one segment. Stand still for 15 seconds on new ground, and a junction is born where you hesitated.

Your recordings Network segment

Every segment, a personal best.

How fast you covered a segment — or a whole stretch of them — each time: your best, and your progress.

Energy & heart rate

Calories that know the terrain.

Most apps guess from distance. Cardio Trails estimates active energy from your speed, the slope, the ground under each segment, your weight that day and the gear you carry — and switches to heart rate wherever your wearable measured it densely.

18 activity types

However you move.

Each activity type keeps its own paths, pass counts and difficulty ratings — and similar ones stand in for each other when a rating is missing, so walking borrows from running, and mountain biking from cycling.
